Presentation and Graphics

Presentation and Graphic

Introduce

This is the fourth devlog of "Where is my Spaceship?" and the topic of this week is presentation and graphic. The first I want to say is graphics, the graphics of Where is my spaceship are vector graphics, which make the game look  more realistic. In this game, I have purchased some assets such as characters, animations, poison, platformers, and enemies to ensure that is beautiful and appropriate. The characters and its animations are similar as I provided in concept document, the main character is a very cute orange astronaut with a lot of animations such as idle, walk, jump, shoot, walk-shoot, jump-shoot. Aliens are also cute, there are 3 aliens in the game, each alien also has their animation. Poison, water, explosion are also have their animation and all of them are vector graphics. In addition, there are different explosion with animations were used when spawn or enemy are destroyed. About the presentation, I chosen the most relevant background that is very relevant to the story of the game, there is a beautiful sky with a lot of mini stars and some large planets, each scene is different background but all of them are relevant to the story and concept of the game.

There is some graphics I used in "Where is my spaceship?"

Feedback

"It's come a long way since I last played it a few weeks ago! I really like the variety of traps and enemies. Focusing on the graphics/presentation though: -Some of the larger objects are pixelated. The large section of acid and I noticed a swinging ball with spikes pixelated. Maybe the acid could just be shrunk down and repeated a bunch times? -The ground and basic platforms don't match the art style of the rest of the game. It'd be good to see some more texture there, I think it'd make a huge difference to the presentation. I'm looking forward to the finished product in a couple more weeks!"

Thank you for contributing your opinion to me once again. Yes, you right when saying "Maybe the acid could just be shrunk down and repeated a bunch times?" because the version you tested, I used acid as pixel graphics since i thought vector graphics were not suitable. But after consideration, I adjusted and decided to use vector graphics, as it aligns better and harmonizes more with other sprites. I acknowledge your feedback about the ground and platforms, I think i need to adjust to a different color for the ground.

"Hi Jaden, great work so far, I just test the game and I love the traps and the animations. However, I have found some bugs that the player not die when I run into some traps. I like how you make the floating objects as well"

Thank you for your feedback, I will retry and fix the bugs as soon as I can.

Conclusion

Another successful week with useful feedback, Thank you all once again!
