Basic Level Blocking

Some introduce

This is my second devlog for "Where is my spaceship?". This week I will introduce about my plan about levels in "Where is my spaceship?". This game is a long story about an astronaut during looking for his spaceship to go back to the Earth. The story is at the strange planet so I had some ideas for my game that i can express throughout 3 levels but each level will be long and the difficult will be increased by time. 

The first level has a background with the beautiful sky. In this level, player will face on simple challenges such as jump to avoid toxic puddle and go through obstacles. The difficult will be increased by time, basic enemies will be spawned by portal space. According to my plan, in this level, the enemies is quite weak and cause a little bit damage for player when the player were hit. Because the story of this game is on a strange planet, so it's lack of weird things and toxic puddle is an example. In the first level will have toxic puddle and toxic pool are two of challenges. When player touch toxic puddle, the health will be decreased 2 each 0.2 second and the poison effect will continue to decrease 1 health from the player every 0.2 seconds and lasts for 1 second after the player leaves the toxic puddle . And with toxic pool, player will be destroy immediately if stand nearby.  There will be some obstacles such as spikes, saw blade. Spikes and saw blade will decrease 2 health of player each 0.5 second. About enemy, they will shoot power seed by their mouth, when power seed touch the player it will decrease 1 health of player. But don't worry, player can eat items on pavement to increase player's health. Each item can increase the player's health by different amount. Notice the player's health maximum is 20. In addition, there will have some water pool that player will be floated on the surface of the water, it can't cause damage. The hover ground mechanism can also pose a challenge for players as it may create a sense of difficulty in movement.

The second level will be in volcanic so will have obstacles such as lava and have hot vibe.  I will complete it in the next week but my plan for the second level is lava puddle and some red obstacles. In addition, there will have enemies with hot vibe and red color.

The third level will come back to beautiful night sky but with different background to the first level.

Feedback and respond

This week I received some awesome feedback from everyone. 

"The projectile instantiation looks a bit off from the pistol, might try a child object and instantiate from there adjusting with animation? Are you planning on using some sliders or bars for health and bullets, that would look awesome. Any enemy ideas so far? Any somber or space music in mind? I know its not supper important and not project itself related but I think you are building using huge pixel dimensions, maybe adjust it a bit as it was hard to visualise at first."  

Great feedback I have. The first is the idea for projectile that is quite great, I will try to do it as you told. About using sliders or bar for health and bullets are one of my plan right now, I will try to do it in the week for UI. About enemies I have a lot of ideas that I will do in the next week. Space music is also my plan right now my plan will use mystic sound for this game. About the pixel dimensions, I will adjust it more relevant in the next version. 

"You might want to set a cool down timer or something to seperate each shot. The design of the world level is very cool but it does feel a little slow to traverse."

This is also a great feedback for me. Idea about cool down timer to separate each shot is quite great, I am being headache when thinking about this problem. About the slow to traverse I think I need more time to think about this one.

Conclusion

Generally, I think I have something to fix right now from feedback and need to complete my plan.
